I have a new review up at NightOwlRomance.com it is by a great writer, Sean Harris. The title is Dead of Winter.

What a perfect book to read right now because it is sooo cold. Thank goodness I am not in Alaska like the in the book, it's even colder there than in Michigan. Yuck.

Quoted on Louisa Burton's Blog

I sometimes google myself so I can see where I appear on the web. Sometimes I find reviews of my work, mentions of my work, or like I found today, a quote.

I love this one. It is a quote from the review I did for Louisa Burton's book, Whispers of the Flesh, she posted it on her blog. So cool.

Here was the quote excerpted from the review originally published on NightOwlRomance.com:

"WHISPERS OF THE FLESH, the third book in Louisa Burton’s Hidden Grotto series, is a sensual delight. As splendidly arousing as the first two novels in the series, book three delves into the past to explore some of the Grotto’s history, then returns to the present where two lovers are doomed to be kept apart until a flashback to a hippie weekend at the Grotto uncovers several truths that have been kept secret for too many years.... Exquisitely written, and the author does a seamless job of bouncing back and forth through time. Burton's novels are tantalizing, erotic, and thoroughly arousing. A true delight to read."

I look forward to reviewing your book on Fang-tastic Books.

Early Spring Cleaning -Book Giveaway-Wicked Hot by Charlene Teglia

I am acquiring quite a stack of books. Most of the are bound ARC's (advance review copies). They are uncorrected proofs that reviewers get before the books go on sale. I have a lot of them. Some I am keeping, like my Laurell K Hamilton one and any that go with a series that I read but others, well...they are piling up.

So I figured I would start giving them away. From time to time I'll be posting a book here that is up for grabs. If you would like it please comment on this post and leave an email so you can be contacted. I will randomly pick from the people that post.

This week's book up for grabs is Wicked Hot by Charlene Teglia. This is a supernatural sizzler. It is about a succubus that needs to seduce a Nephilim (half angel). Wicked Hot is definitely a scorcher, sex right from the get go and it just keeps getting hotter. If you love fast paced erotica novels full of super hot sex scenes this is a book you'll adore. Here's the complete review I wrote about it at NightOwlRomance.com

So if you would like this ARC of Wicked Hot please leave a comment below.

A Review of At Grave's End by Jeaniene Frost

Jeaniene Frost isn't running out of steam or ideas for Bones and Cat, and it is so apparent why Frost has become a popular vampire writer and bestselling author in such a short time.

In At Grave's End is the third book in the Night Huntress series and it rocks.

Cat and Bones are back and this time they are caught in the cross hairs of a big, bad, super powerful old vamp that wants them both dead and won't stop coming until they are both shriveled in the grave.

The bad news? This vamp may get exactly what it wants because it has power, secrets, magic and most of all...someone on the inside. That's right, someone inside the sacred circle of trust is a traitor.

Cat and Bones are already getting attacked every time they turn around, first Cat's dad, Max, launches an all out attack and tried to kill her, but he had help. They need to know who is behind the funding. Someone wants them dead- bad and quick. No matter what they do the threats just keep coming. Who is the traitor?

Is it Bones's sire Ian, who Cat isn't sure she trusts? Is it one of Bones's trusted body guards and long time friends? Or is it the newly turned vampire, Tate, member of Cat's team and the guy that is totally in love with her? Could he be trying to off Bones so he can finally get his chance with Cat? Hell, maybe it is Dracula. Someone is out to get them and has started an all out war among the vampires to ensure they get what they want.

Poor Cat. She's never had a normal life and now she can't even have a normal holiday season or plan a wedding. Sure she and Bones are legally married as far as the vamps are concerned but Cat was hoping for a more traditional wedding. At this point that's never going to happen. How can you plan a wedding in the middle of a war, a war that you are actively engaged in?

If they don't figure out who is after them they may never get the chance to have that wedding anyway.

Frost has delivered another action packed paranormal romance full of wit, sarcasm, sex and violence. Just what the doctor ordered on a cold winter night.

It is easy to see why these books have become instant best sellers. If you are a fan of Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake series you will love The Night Huntress series. Similar enough to get you into the books, but different enough you'll get hooked on their originality.

The Night Huntress series has enough romance to make your heart go pitter patter, enough emotion to draw some tears, enough sarcasm and humor you may laugh out loud, and enough sex and violence to keep it interesting, very interesting. Then she throws in a fabulous story line full of plot twists and turns that keep you guessing and you get fabulous characters that are alive (in their own way, undead or otherwise) they reach right out off the page to touch you. Amazing.

I really love Cat. She is such a bad ass with a heart of gold. And Bones...he is sooo YUMMY with a side of fang. Then there's Tate. You can't help but feel for the guy. I almost wish Cat would falter and throw the poor guy a love bone. Too bad Bones would shred him. I wonder how that is going to play out? I hope Tate doesn't get killed, maybe along the way he will find someone special, other than Cat.

I am so glad this series is continuing. It is one worth reading. I can't wait to see what is in store for Bones and Cat in the future.

Kiss of a Demon King by Kresley Cole

I love, love, love The Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole. I can not wait to read the 6th book in the series: Kiss of a Demon King.

This is the excerpt from Kresley Cole.com:

"With one kiss, he knew she'd be his queen...

From New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole comes this spellbinding story of a demon king fighting to reclaim his crown and the wicked sorceress who dares to use his most secret desires to thwart him.

His obsession: the enchantress who surrenders her body, but not her heart.

After Sabine, the Queen of Illusions, lures and traps Rydstrom Woede in her lair, the ruthless warrior fights to resist her seduction. But his fierce demon nature lusts for her delicate body and won’t be denied. Even as Rydstrom plots to escape, he still intends to claim Sabine as his own—on his terms.

Her downfall: the battle-scarred demon who vows to keep her at all costs.

When Rydstrom breaks free, her abducts Sabine, turning the tables. Now she’s the one struggling to resist his delicious torment. With each relentless encounter, Sabine hungers more for her merciless adversary.

They were never supposed to want each other this much…

If they can defeat the sinister enemy that stands between them, will Sabine make the ultimate sacrifice to save her demon? Or will the proud king lay down his crown and arms to keep his sorceress?"

Talk about sexy...a sorceress and a sexy as hell demon king? Oh this one is going to be goood!

I am heading on over to Amazon to order my copy today.

Two Books Read this Week: 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover and The Witch's Grave

I managed to read two books this week: 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover by Linda Wisdom and The Witch's Grave by Shirley Damsgaard. Two very fabulous books.

I have been waiting for The Witch's Grave for awhile now but while I was waiting I found Linda Wilson's witch series. The first book is 50 Ways.

I love Jazz, a great witch with attitude and spunk who is head over heals in love with a vampire, even if she doesn't want to admit to it. For centuries Jazz and Nick have been on again, off again lovers, though their encounters usually end up with Nick sticking Jazz in jail, for her own good. No one wants to be stuck in a jail cell, especially not a feisty witch, and really not ever by your vampire boyfriend. Well, this time Nick really needs Jazz's help. Can she help him without getting stuck in jail? Can she resist the attraction and desire between them while doing what needs to be done? Or will this mission be the end of them and their lives?

Great book, I am off to read the second one, Hex Appeal very soon.

Now to The Witch's Grave. Ophelia's been having sexy dreams and sudden;y her dream lover is right in front of her but as soon as she meets him he's shot. Did Ophelia lose her soul mate before having the chance to love him in this life or was it just not meant to be?

My full review of The Witch's Grave will soon be on NightOwlRomance.com, I'll post a link when it is up.

Really fabulous book. I love Abby and Ophelia. I hope to see more of them soon.

Finished The Bewitching Series

So I finished reading the current books in The Bewitching Series by Madelyn Alt.

Ahh, another series that I have fallen in love with.

Now I have to wait to summer to find out what happens with Maggie. I really hope she hooks up with Marcus and gives up on Tom. Tom is sooo not right for her. For an empath she's pretty clueless sometimes. Get the hang of it Mags. Marcus is the one.

Didn't Get My Books Yet

Can you believe my local Borders didn't have the books in that I wanted. They were released on December 30 which is the day I was in the store but the store had not received the shipment yet. The salesguy/clerk/whatever, who was very helpful by the way, said he didn't know if it was the holidays or the weather but the books were not at the store.

So I didn't get my copies of At Grave's End by Jeaniene Frost (the third book in the Night Huntress series) or The Witch's Grave ( the 6th book in the Abby and Ophelia Mysteries series) by Shirley Damsgaard. I guess I should have ordered them online I would have had them already. Oh well, I ordered then through the store.

Good thing I still have other books to finish reading.

The Bewitching series by Madelyn Alt is turning out to be quite good. I just finished the second book, A Charmed Death, and I am ready to start the third, Hex Marks the Spot. The newest book, the fourth in the series, No Rest for the Wiccan, came out in November. I'll have to find that one. When I checked these three out from the library they didn't have the fourth yet.

I like the Bewitching Series. Very paranormal chick lit mystery style. They are like the Abby and Ophelia Mysteries, which is actually how I found them. They were an Amazon recommendation that popped up when I was searching for the release date of The Witch's Grave months ago.

Anyway the Bewitching series has that irresistible charm of the outcast girl turned woman who lives alone and is not nor has ever been the popular center of attention type of girl. A little awkward and lacking self confidence she's always been different. Finding magick has made her realize she is not as different or alone as she thought. (this could describe the main protagonist in either the Bewitching series or Abby and Ophelia).

There's minimal bad language, no graphic sex (not any sex at all so far, hints and allusions to, but the main character is still untouched numerous books into the series) and just a hint of romance. But there's so much action going on, murders and mysteries to solve- who has time for romance- right?

Make time, I want to see these girls hook up. In the Bewitching series Maggie really needs to hook up with Marcus. Her current love interest, Tom, the cop, is all wrong. He is the guy her mother would choose for her. So far poor Maggs is still stuck in her old belief system and too blind to see the perfect man right in front of her face because she thinks he is taken. All signs I'm reading say he's not and that he's totally into her. Hopefully in the next books Maggie and Marcus will eventually hook up.

I've already shared the Abby and Ophelia series with my mom, I think she would love these books by Madelyn Alt. Most of what I read isn't her style, she can't stand the bad language or gratuitous sex. She's not much for major detailed violence either. But I am sure she would love the Bewitching series.
