Guest Blog and Giveaway with Louisa Bacio

Blood Ties

By Louisa Bacio

Does the blood of different individuals taste different? Like variations of wine, one imagines the sweetness of a young woman, fresh from skinny-dipping in a cool mountain lake, or the richness of a wealthy man after a heavy meal. But what would a witch taste like? How about a werewolf?

The imagination spikes … intoxicating.

When writing about the world of the paranormal, or as I refer to them Others, I listen to what my inspiration whispers in my ear. Some may wonder where the information comes from. Perhaps, walking down the streets of New Orleans, carefully treading over cobblestone paths, I’ve met a few creatures of the night in the darkened shadows.

Maybe, a lifetime fascination with the world beyond the human realm, and countless hours spent reading the mesmerizing accounts have helped fuel my stories.

The Vampire, The Witch & The Werewolf: Chains of Silver delves deeper into the dark world of the Others. Fang-bangers and vampires mix among the tourists in a bar called Club Blood, where the signature drink is a Vampire’s Kiss martini. And when a rogue gang of vampires continues to not only hunt but take part in blood sport, Silver and her vampire-hunting boyfriend Nick must go where darkness has taken over, an abandoned amusement park.

Shadows exist within our world. Some we may see clearly, and others that lurk on the outskirts of our vision. Areas where we may not be sure what is fiction, and what is reality. Hopefully, if you’re a reader a bit like me, you’ll take pleasure in escaping from everyday life into a world not quite different than ours.

What do you think? What makes you believe?

Thrilled to be visiting Fang-Tastic Books today. Thank you for hosting, and make sure to drop by Club Blood sometime. Someone will be waiting …

I think I'm more than a bit of a reader, more like lot!! So, I find myself escaping to other fantasy worlds quite a bite. Most often, involving the paranormal.

I love your video trailer of the first book, very yummy characters!!

I agree with Louisa... shadows do exist in our world. I think since I've started reading the lines of what is fiction and what is reality have really blurred and I'm thankful for that because it keeps life interesting. Would love to try a Vampire’s Kiss martini:)

One has to wonder not only if different people taste different, but if blood taken from different spots tastes differently. Like, is the wrist like a sweet and light flavor, and from the inner thigh all rich and thick?

Please count me in please =) I think this sounds like a good new series to start. I love to escape to another world and this series has all my favorites in it. Thanks for the chance to win.

Wow, some fabulous comments! Glad I checked back in a day later!

Yadkny -- I really like martinis at bars, but they don't turn out so well for me at home. Too strong, and I don't know what I do wrong. I tried making it myself for Halloween and whoo!

Raven -- I just finished up a prequel to the series for a Christmas release, The Vampire & The Werewolf, and one scene includes absinthe ... tried it in New Orleans for the first time!
