Please tell us about your latest

Shifty Business is the third book in my
Bend-Bite-Shift Trilogy. We briefly met
Gerry and Nicky during book one of the series.
In Shifty we get to find out what was happening to the pair while we
were following the other characters at the start of the trilogy. It turns out Gerry and Nicky are married, but
that is just the beginning of the secrets that get revealed during the book.
What inspired you to write this
book?
At first I wasn’t sure what Nicky and Gerry’s story would
be. I had a starting place for them
since they were introduced in book 1 of the Bend-Bite-Shift Trilogy. Since we knew from that first book that Nicky
and Gerry’s relationship was a surprise/secret to their team, I decided to take
the idea of secrets even further, so wrap their entire relationship up in
them.
What is the most interesting thing
you have physically done for book related research purposes?
Well,
when I wrote book one I knew the characters that would appear in book 3 were
going to start out in New Orleans. A
year ago this March I got the chance to travel to the French Quarter. Not only did I get to do some research, but I
also got to meet up with some other fabulous authors, some of whom are now very
good friends.
With the book being part of a
series, are there any character or story arcs, that readers jumping in somewhere
other than the first book, need to be aware of? Can these books be read as
stand alones?
I think each book can be read as a
stand alone, but readers who start at the end of the series may find spoilers
to the earlier books. I’ve chosen to
write this trilogy a little differently in that all of the books follow one
arc, but each book focuses on a different romantic couple and their struggles.
When did you consider yourself a
writer?
Honestly, I think I knew by the time
I was sixteen that I was a writer.
Having the confidence to become a published
writer was an entirely different animal.
It’s not that tough to “bleed onto the keyboard,” but to let someone
else share in that experience takes a lot of faith.
What are your guilty pleasures in
life?
*hides face in hands*
Lucky Country Aussie Style Strawberry Licorice. I am officially addicted to them.
Where can readers find you on the
web?
Would you like to leave readers with
a little teaser or excerpt from the book?
A moment later,
Mére Owa bustled into the bedroom and boldly brushed past Nicky and through the
portal. Langston followed her a second later.
“Were you just
gonna leave? I thought you wanted my help, boyo,” the dark woman fussed,
slapping at Nicky’s arm with her blood-red scarf.
“I was going to go
back to the apartment and wait for you as soon as we got her settled here. I
needed to get away from…”
“I know, I know.
Stop your fussing. You’re wife ain’t got much time if I’m right and we got to
get crackin’ here!”
“Wife?” Langston
murmured, astonishment blanching his face. “It would seem there is much you
have not told us, Nicky.”
Nicky might have
laughed at the expression on the big man’s face. It wasn’t easy to surprise the
wise giant, but he was certainly caught off guard now. Instead of laughing
though, Nicky groaned, putting his face in his hands and then rubbing the back
of his stress-stiff neck.
“Yeah, Langston, I
guess there is… but the way I figure it, I should be entitled to some privacy,
right?”

Book Description:
Gerry Hinton thought she had the perfect career as an operative for the Company. Her next assignment should have been another "mission accomplished", but hell was delivering hand baskets that day.
When a little girl gives a mysterious silver box to Gerry, her world self-destructs. Suddenly under constant mental attacks, the only person who can save her is her partner, Nicky--but nothing comes without a cost. Secrets buried deep in the past begin to rise, threatening everything she holds dear.
If she can't out run her past, can she save her future?
About the Author
When Olivia Hardin began having strange movie-like dreams in her teens, she had no choice but to begin putting them to paper. Before long the writing bug had her and she knew she wanted to be a published author. Several rejections plus a little bit of life later, and she was temporarily “cured” of the urge to write. That is until she met a group of talented and fabulous writers who gave her the direction and encouragement she needed to get lost in the words again.
Olivia’s attended three different universities over the years. She toyed with majors in Computer Technology, English, History and Geology until one day she heard the term road scholar and she knew that was what she wanted to be. Now she “studies” anything and everything just for the joy of learning. She's also an insatiable crafter who only completes about 1 out of 5 projects, a jogger who hates to run, and she’s sometimes accused of being artistic.
A native Texas girl, Olivia lives in the beautiful Lone Star state with her husband, Danny and their puppy, Bonnie.
