4 fangs for Even Demons Get the Blues

For thousands of years, Rezon was the demon king Asmodeus's general and right hand. Now, by his own choice, Rez is serving as a Beguiler demon (think incubus). Unfortunately for Rez, he's become obsessed with Leisa, a human woman. Leisa's self-esteem has been deeply damaged by her past, but instead of further corrupting her, Rez wants to help her heal. Too bad demons aren't supposed to view humans as anything other than playthings used to help meet demonic corruption quotas...

Anderson drew me into her well-written tale, and even within the confines of novella length, she created vivid characters that I came to care about. I would have liked a bit more soul-searching from both Rez and Leisa in the last half of the book, but it definitely worked as is. Also, kudos to Anderson for neatly balancing the steam-to-story ratio and not overwhelming either with the other!

If you enjoy fast-paced, clever, and steamy paranormal romance, I think that you'll enjoy Even Demons Get the Blues as much as I did. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more from Maree Anderson!
