To kick off the Spooktacular month of October this week's Free Book Friday is for not just one, but three copies (thanks to Andy at Sellers Publishing) of
This delightful book explores the topic of vampire dating. Specifically humans dating vampires. If this sounds like something you would enjoy than tie on a red ribbon and enter the contest.
Blurb:
Who needs a book on dating a vampire? Well, Bella Swan and Sookie Stackhouse to name just two. They are fortunate to have vampire boyfriends. But what the heroines of Twilight and True Blood don't have and could use is some advice on getting along with them. Everything they and every other red-blooded American girl (and guy) wants to know about finding a dreamy blood-drinker and keeping him is within How to Catch and Keep a Vampire: A Step-by-Step Guide to Loving The Bad and the Beautiful.
And who better to introduce mortal readers to the world of dating a 21st century vampire than a few mouth-watering immortals? The cast includes: Ethan, with his aquamarine eyes and supernaturally seductive piano playing. Mordred, classically cruel, dark, and handsome, with a thing for black leather gloves. His entrancingly cute carrot-topped friend Adam, as sweet as Mordred is scary. Gunnar, with his rich, golden hair, and dastardly but delightful knack for getting his way. The experienced and fascinating Colin, with his exquisite latte-colored skin and exotic beauty. The eccentric but gorgeous Aidan, purveyor of ancient magic. And enigmatic Conner, with his deep, dark eyes and protective soul. These undead charmers will win the hearts and minds of readers everywhere, and author Diana Laurence will be their expert guide.

Hi Roxanne, thanks for offering this great giveaway. Diana's book sounds funny; I'm in. Would I date a vampire? Absolutely! He'd be my fountain of youth, when I want to stop aging he turns me. (LOL)
My email is on my blogger link, I believe.
I would, and I think the answer is "Why not?!" :D If a vampire wants to date me, I'm guessing he doesn't want to kill me. Maybe suck my blood. I could deal with that. I've read in fiction books that it feels good :P

Yes, I would definitely date a vampire. I know it could be risky--what with the possibility of death, cruelty, huge age differences and stoneage ideas about relationships--but like so many women I am terribly fond of a Bad Boy sort of guy. The kind of guy who's dangerous. (Makes me tingle just thinking about it.) So, yeah, I'd have to say yes. :)
Hi Roxanne, thanks so much for featuring my book today! It's going to be a blast reading the comments. I love that you chose this particular subject, because in the new (Nov.) issue of Glamour magazine I was asked to defend the "no" position on the question of "Should you date a vampire?" (For the online version see http://tinyurl.com/y95uu7e). I would have preferred the "yes" position, but Charlaine Harris got that one! LOL
So today on your site I'm getting the opportunity to make it up to my vampire friends by concurring with your readers: dating a vampire can be awesome.
Witchy, great point, if one does elect to be turned...which is of course a matter discussed in depth in the book!
Brooke, you said it: Why not?? And yes, what you've read in fiction books is spot on. :-)
Writtenwyrdd, good that you are recognizing some of the challenges. But you nailed it, that Bad Boy thing can be irresistible. And boy don't I know it! (I also know about that tingle business, LOL.)
Hi Roxanne and Diana,
Would I date a vampire? Yes I would, actually I think I'm dating one right now.
He only comes out at night, and like's to keep everything dark during the day. And did I mention he likes to nip at my neck. I need this book ;)
Would I date a vampire? Yes I think the dark, mysterious, and very dangerous side of a guy is way to tempting to look away. And the fact that he would be hot is not bad either.
Of course I would date a vampire! I love history, and I think it would be great to date someone who's experienced it first hand.
That.. and they're totally sexy...
Thanks!

Ann Marie, how intriguing! Vampire or not, sounds like an attractive guy. :-)
Cait045, dark, mysterious and dangerous is indeed the appeal. Which normally isn't what you want in a boyfriend...but the book explains all that of course!
Morning Glow, that's exactly how I feel! I could listen all day to my vampire friend's recollections. Conner was a groupie of Shakespeare's. How cool is that?
Of course. They are smart, sexy and mysterious. And with all their experiences you can learn a lot and have a lot of fun.

I probably would. I don't think I could stop myself because there are so many questions about history that just aren't answered in any textbook;-)and I could get the answers from someone who lived it; and then there is the whole dark and dangerous thing. I do love bad boys;-)
Yes, they are my favorites!
Dona S., you bring up the bit about all their knowledge, and that's for sure. Each one has his special expertise...and of course they all have certain "expertise" in common, LOL!
Paris, it's true, immortals can tell you what times of yore were really like. It's really fascinating to talk to them about "pop culture" of the Victorian age or fashions in the 9th century. And they use some funky slang!
Tetewa...another bad boy fan! Yup. :-)
Yes, for the knowledge.
Hi Roxanne, would I date a vampire? If I wasn't married, absolutely. As long as he shares his blood to improve my vitality.

No, not if they didn't age...b/c I'd get old and they wouldn't. I guess that's if I married them or something though...just to date? Well, why not for a bit?

No, I honestly wouldn't want to date a vampire, unless of course I were eternally young, too.

You are wise, O Cyd (and anyone with a cat for a profile photo gets a thumbs up from me).
Elnice, I'm married too, and yet I wrote this book! Believe me, it works, just ask my husband (who is a mortal). All is explained within the pages...
That's the spirit, Shooting Stars Mag! And I find the vampires are quite like Edward in that our aging doesn't bother them the way it does mortal guys. Which is a very good thing.
Carolsnotebook, I sense a theme starting here. But fortunately, youth is not a prerequisite to vampire dating, or yours truly would be exempt too. Vampires differ from Madison Avenue in that they see the value in age and wisdom! Bless 'em.
Would I date a vampire? Yes I would love to have incredibly intense orgasims with a bite!!
aliciahall0605(AT)yahoo(DOT)com
Would I date a vampire? Yes I would just to experience life a differant way.
No I wouldn't date a vampire because I have enough problems. Yesterday, I would have.

Yes I would date a vampire....and if I could spend forever with someone I loved(and it wouldn't hurt if they looked like Jackson) it would be worth it.

Alicia, you cut right to the chase, didn't you? :-D
Katsrus, great point: there's nothing like vampire dating to liven up your life. Which, I guess, is ironic, hey? "Liven"? Get it? Groannn.
Loretta, sorry about your day, hopefully tomorrow will be more like yesterday was!
And Kimmyl, that forever stuff is nice, I can't deny it!
I would date a vampire if we clicked. I wouldn't date him just because he is a vampire though
I forgot to include my email it's hdtermite (at) yahoo (dot) com
Date, yes... but be his eternal partner, not so sure about that!
delilah0180(at)yahoo(dot)com
A couple of excellent points!
Carmen, in the book I talk about why you shouldn't settle for just any vampire. So true!
And Etirv, very wise to observe that forever is a long time. I also discuss the options of a variety of vampires vs. one true love. (See, this book covers all the bases, hey?)
Hi Roxanne and Diana!
This is a fun one and the book is on my to read list. :) The little blurb and the title just reeled me right in. :)
I would date a Vampire for the experience, for the excitement and for finding my true mate-life mate. An you know, the bonus that comes when they bite you in the mist of you know...Yeah, oh yeah.
Hope ya'll have a Great Weekend and Thank You both for such a cool Contest!
Yes, I would date a vampire. If his bite give me a "curl my toes" thrill, I would be a more than willing blood donor!

Chris, thanks for the compliments, and so glad you'll be reading the book! Your "yeah oh yeah" says it all. LOL
Booklover, you're on the same wavelength with the toe curling. See, this bunch gets it! :-)
Of course! Vampires are so sensual.

As sexy as some vampires can be, I don't think I'd want to date one. The blood donation wouldn't be a problem since I already donate blood every eight weeks, but the fact that they can't go out in the sun would be a bit problematic foro me. I like being able to go out during the day, even if I don't sit in the sun to soak up the rays. So, unless the vamp is able to stay awake during the day and can be out without being turned into instant ash, I wouldn't want to date one. *sigh*

Thanks for the giveaway. Please enter me. Yes, I would date a vampire. They are just so sexy!
