AAD Spotlight: Kindred and Wings by Philippa Ballantine

Kindred and Wings—the cast

Dreaming of movies is something authors do in their idle moments…and though I haven’t had too many of those recently, casting the Kindred and Wings big screen adaption is something I am happy to share with readers.

Talyn- Gemma Arterton

Carrying so much pain inside her, Talyn is just learning how to be after learning the Caisah’s duplicity. Separated and all at sea, she must chose what is important, and discover if revenge is really worth it. She’s come a long way since Hunter and Fox, but there is still plenty of distance for her to cover.

Finn- David Wenham

Flying on the back of a dragon is a strange place to find a talespinner, but Finn is beginning to feel his own power. He is hunting the brother he never knew he had, and learning to forget about Talyn. What he will learn when he finds him will change Finn’s view about himself.

Byreniko- Kit Harrington

The gentle brother of Talyn, Byre has set out on a mission that is bound to be full of pain. It will take him through the past and back again, bringing lessons and secrets with him. He had never thought much on his place in the grand drama of Conhaero, but he is about to learn that fate has a role for him to play.

Pelanor- Zoe Saldana

A young blood witch, who was once full of ambition, she now finds herself caught up with the Vaerli cause, and the bonds of her own people are starting to fade. What she will become and who she will chose remain uncertain.

The Caisah- Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Hated by all of Conhaero, the story of the Caisah and his history are beginning to become clear. His role in the end of the world starts to come to fruition.

Kelanim- Emma Stone

As the mistress of the Caisah, Kelanim has had to fight hard to keep her position and her man. The events of Kindred and Wings will test her even further.

In the halls of the Last Believers, Talyn begins to uncover her own mysteries, but her lust for the death of the Caisah is still strong and clouds her vision.

Meanwhile, Byre, Talyn's brother, must venture into the fiery world of the Kindred, to rebuild the pact that his ancestors made. He will risk everything he is as he forms a new pact that will change his people forever.
