When it was discovered that vampires weren't myths, many people wanted to kill all of them. A virus to do so was crafted; however, instead of killing the vampires, it mutated the vampirism virus. Now all vampires, old and new, are blind. Vampires have become a protected race, and carefully screened human submissives serve as blood slaves and guide dogs for the vampires. Blood Slave contains two related erotic short stories about this vampire and human relationship.

In the first story, "Where the Blind Leads," human Brandon has completed the required testing to become a blood slave and now has an "interview" with his potential vampire master, Daren, to discover if they're physically compatible.

In "Leading the Blind," former blood slave and submissive Nicholas has become a vampire. His former master, Daren, understands that Nicholas doesn't have it in him to be dominant and arranges an "interview" between Nicholas and Dominic, a dominant human.

These were very well-written and steamy M/M BDSM shorts. Although each story is less than 20 pages long, Michelle Houston does a wonderful job creating compelling characters and situations with hot outcomes. I'll be looking for more of Houston's stories, and I hope that she has, or will, write more stories set in the Blood Slave world.
