To Celebrate the Solstice: A Free Signed Copy of Holiday with a Vampire III

To celebrate the winter solstice I have a copy of Holiday with a Vampire III signed by one of the authors: Bonnie Vanak.

If you would like to win this book please leave a comment with your email info and tell me which winter holidays you celebrate: Yule, Chanukah (or Hanukkah which is the correct spelling? I've found it both ways) the Solstice, Kwanzaa, or Christmas- or maybe a mixture of a couple.

I am curious to see who celebrates what. I say the more celebrations the better.

I mainly celebrate Christmas with a private nod to Yule and the Solstice. My husband is a non-practicing Catholic and I was raised a non-denominational Christian though I find I am more drawn to Pagan and Wiccan beliefs. So I put up Christmas decorations and do all the winer holiday things while I wish I had a fireplace to burn a big Yule log and I wish I had a place to go to really celebrate the Solstice.

My family celebrates Christmas, and I celebrate with them. Though I am leaning more and more towards pagan/wiccan, so I'm also leaning more towards celebrating solstice. Or maybe I just celebrate winter, family, and giving people presents.

Thanks!

We celebrate x-mas, but I must admit I am a bit of a scrooge. My husband is the one who decorates, I won't touch it. I feel that sometimes it feels that the holidays have lost the spirit of giving. So we just have a quite day to celabrate our family.

I grew up with a pretty traditional Christian Christmas- I even remember that we used to have a birthday cake for Baby Jesus. My husband had a similar background, although I doubt they had the cake, and now he is a Buddhist. As I grew up I found myself drawn to the Wiccan beliefs so now I try to celebrate Solstice and teach my kids a combination of all. We pay tribute to the changing seasons, practice good charity work, put up a tree and count the days until Santa comes. We get together with family each year and we do all the normal Christmas things- enjoy far too much good food, share entertaining stories, and ogle all the festively wrapped presents.

I celebrate Christmas, but I've always had a big appreciation for all the other celebrations. I've always especially been drawn to the solstice.

We're a Christmas family, but I love some of the aspects of Channukah. I love the eight days of celebrating and what the mennorrah represents.

But I love my tree with all its pretty white lights.
