"An ambiguously coded figure, a source of both erotic anxiety and corrupt desire, the literary vampire is one of the most powerful archetypes bequeathed to us from the imagination of the nineteenth century." ~ page 2 introduction to Blood Read: The Vampire as Metaphor in Contemporary Culture
Intellectual Vampire Quote
"If the vampire is an other, he or she was always a figure in whom one could find one's self...the despicable as well as the defiant, the shameful as well as the unashamed, the loathing of oddness as well as pride in it." ~ Richard Dyer
I've read the series too and would give it a 4 overall. I would occasionally find myself losing track of what was going on. It would probably (like in most cases) be better if I read or reread them all in a row cause it does intensify the experience.
Five Fangs: Extremely Fang-tastic, The Book Totally Rocks, Really Love It, Highly Recommended Read Four Fangs: Fabulously Fang-tastic, Loved It, Recommended Read
Three Fangs: Fang-tastic book, worth reading
Two Fangs: Not so Fang-tastic
One Fang: This book totally sucks and not in the good vampire way

I haven't heard of this author until now, but the covers alone draw me in. And now that I've read the reviews, I'm stalking. lol.
