Are you looking to build your reader base and have your own email distribution list for future releases? We all know giving our work away is a great way to reach readers, but if you don't get some information from them in return it's not worth much.
Red Hot Readers is a new concept on Facebook. Dedicated to matching readers with authors, it launched on Monday and has had over 600 ebooks requested in five days, close to 900 "likes" on the page and at last count, a newsletter subscriber list of 163. The Page has a giveaway website that feeds directly into a small Facebook browser inset, essentially letting readers shop for titles right in FB!
For twenty dollars you are set up on the website, have FB ads directed toward the giveaway, and get email leads sent directly to your inbox. Each lead will contain the reader's name, their email address and the type of ereader they own. Which is invaluable data if you ever plan to push a launch through a particular retailer!
