The Avid Reader

Can you tell readers a little bit about yourself and what inspired to write in this particular genre?

MCJ: I have always wanted to write since I was a very young child; as young as eight years old! But I was a reader first; the earliest I can remember drowning myself in a book was 3 or 4years old. Fascinated by the pictures, wanting to be in the world they described. I have always loved paranormal/fantasy…magic, power, beings that are so vastly different from anything that can be considered “real” life! Although, the characters in my favorite books and in those I write have become so real, I find the lines of fantasy/reality blurred at timesJ But this genre, pulls me out of the regular and the mundane, and allows me to escape and really, let’s be honest…its’ a great opportunity to live through the characters; having some wicked powers/skills and in love with the hottest guys, who remain young and beautiful forever!:)

What is it about the paranormal, in particular vampires, that fascinates you so much?

MCJ: Other than the obvious portrayals of being extremely handsome…Vampires although the ultimate “bad boys”, have an unrivaled ability for passion and to commit to an unshakeable bond between themselves and the one they love. Yes, there is that element of danger…that the vampire lover could cross the line to predator…I believe it’s that thrill of danger that fuels the attraction for these beings.

What inspired you to write this book?

MCJ: To be honest, the idea came about due to the town where I live. It isn’t really considered a small city but it is quiet…normal really. But one day while driving, I began to imagine what if in this all American city; Vampires were actually the ruling class????Well, that started my thoughts swirling, and one day I saw the Pythian Children’s Home which is located locally. It is designed as a  medieval castle… which I thought somewhat unique, since we’re dead smack in a Southwestern townJ So, that is where I limited the story…instead of a ruling class of Vampires, I made a class full of themJ;so, within this murky clay of thought is where the idea originatedJ

Do you have any weird writing quirks or rituals?

MCJ: I have to have solitude, my music (Rock) and gummy bears!

Do you write in different genres?

MCJ: Presently, I foresee staying within the fantasy/paranormal genre. But Science Fiction has caught my interest, and one day I may look in that direction.

When did you consider yourself a writer?

MCJ: When the kids at my After School center said…”So when’s the next one coming”?:)

Although, I know the correct answer, is when you begin putting pen to paper, of fingers to keyboards…that is when you are a writer; even if no one else has read your masterpiecesJ

What are your guilty pleasures in life?

MCJ: Curled up in my favorite throw, reading on my Kindle; or watching True blood, Vampire Diaries etc.; Or pretty much, any show with unsuspecting individuals in a small town; and paranormal beings are wreaking havoc of the “normal” characters everyday lives!:)

(RR- we have a lot in common, those are my guilty pleasures too- reading, Vampire Diaries, True Blood, Teen Wolf and any other show with apranormal stuff and I have my special throw blanket dubbed the fuzzy LOL)

Other than writing, what are some of your interests, hobbies or passions in life?

MCJ:I LOVE music, I find it very inspiring…I believe the coolest thing would be if we could all walk around with our own soundtracks! We wouldn’t have to say how our day is going; the music would say it all! , lol unfortunately, this cannot be, so I have my own radio segment to fill that needJ

Where is your favorite place to read? Do you have a cozy corner or special reading spot?

MCJ: Not a specific one, anywhere I can find a quiet nook, with my favorite blanket and book/Kindle is good for meJ

Magical spells really work!! I never thought there were still honest, genuine, trustworthy and very powerful spell casters until i met the spiritual helper, MERUJA OWO. last week he did a love spell for me and it worked effectively and now he just casted another healing spell for my friend who has fibroid and family problem and now she is totally free and she is presently the happiest person on earth, she keeps thanking me all day..
I just thought it would be good to tell the whole world about his good work and how genuine he is, i wasn't thinking i could get any help because of my past experiences with other fake casters who could not bring my husband back to me and they all promised heaven and earth and all they are able to do is ask for more money all the time until i met with this man. he does all spells, Love spells, money spells, lottery spells e.t.c i wish i can save every one who is in those casters trap right now because i went though hell thinking and hoping they could help me.i recommend MERUJA OWO for any kind of help you want.
his email address is: nativedoctor101@live.com
