I am excited to visit the Fang-tastic readers today. J I’m a historical
romance writer with a twist of paranormal. The Lost Colony Series I am spotlighting today has tiny sparks of
paranormal here and there – hinting at the unknown and (occasionally) the
miraculous. (Coming in October is the
start of a Viking Series, which is
swimming in magic and mayhem from page one. Watch www.JoGrafford.com for publication announcements.)
The Lost Colony
Series is based on a 426-year-old missing persons report. You’ve probably
heard of the Lost Colonists from Roanoke Island? Well, these novels are what I
like to call the rest of the story.
The untold parts. It’s what happened after
the last time they were seen, after
the last entry in their sailing journals, after
their governor gave up looking for them. Fun fact: My stories are also based on
the latest archeological findings, which finally
point to survivors. Actually, I never doubted there were survivors, which is
why I started writing this series before
that announcement hit the presses. How cool is that?
Today, the Fang-tastic Book readers get to be the first takers of the Name That
Lost Colony Character Quiz. There are three prizes up for

Book Description:
Jane Mannering can shoot a rifle
and handle a knife as well as any Englishman. However, she is no match for the
red-painted warriors who ambush her section of a Colonial caravan the moment she
and her comrades reach the shores of Virginia.
Jane plots their escape during a
forced march inland, leaving a trail of maltese crosses carved on the trees –
their pre-agreed upon signal of distress. All the while, she fumes over what
interest their captors could possibly have in a twenty-three-year-old spinster
and a rugged band of brick masons, sawyers, and farmers.
When the ruthless Chief Wanchese
intercepts them at the crossroads of the Great Trading Path, Jane is shaken to
discover their greatest enemy plans to keep her for himself. It’s a pity he’s
the only man on two continents who’s ever stirred her heart. Alas, she has an
entire colony to save, and capturing his attentions is not part of their escape
plan.
