I love this series and the spin-off series, Alpha & Omega.
Werewolves, vampires, Fae, coyote shifters, gods, and monsters of all sorts... this world has it all filled with action, drama, and a touch of romance here and there. Beautifully fleshed-out characters in a complicated yet well-built world - and all of it just keeps getting more interesting.
Reading both of these series is like watching a puzzle being created, seeing the pieces fall into place as the entire world takes shape in front of your eyes with each new book.
In this book, Mercy and her pack face something horrible, an ancient force that wants control of everything and will try to take Mercy and her pack down to get it.
The odd part of the entire situation is that this ancient power arrives just as new movie releases featuring The Harvester, a creature of local lore, and this power is walking around killing people looking like The Harvester. What is going on? How are they connected?
To complicate matters even more something is going on with the vampires, and magical people are disappearing including lesser fae and white witches
Then there is possibly the worst part- Wulfe is gone. Wulfe is so unpredictable and dangerous it is like having a ticking bomb out there *gestures vaguely* and not knowing when or where it will explode.
There's so much going on that you'll keep turning pages to see where it all leads.
We get a lot of backstory on Wulfe, Stefan, and Marsilia.
We also get a more in-depth look at Zee, which is awesome. He's one of those characters that is always there, we know he's old and we know he's powerful but it's easy to forget when he just seems like a grumpy old mechanic.
And we finally find out who Sherwood Post is, which I think is opening up a huge storyline that can be addressed in future books.
