She may resist his bite, but she can't resist his charms…
Werewolf princess Blu Masterson won't allow her seductive vampire husband to consummate their marriage with his bite, marking her forever. Alone in a secluded estate with her sworn enemy, Blu curses the marriage arranged to bring their rival nations together, especially since Creed Saint-Pierre calls out to her most feral desires.
When Blu uncovers her pack's secret plot to destroy the vampire nation—and Creed—she is forced to confront her growing feelings for her sexy undead husband. Will she choose the only life she's ever known or accept his vampire bite?
Hi everyone! Thanks to Roxanne for inviting me here today. I'm doing a blog tour through April, and at each blog while be chatting about a different aspect of HER VAMPIRE HUSBAND. Check my blog for the dates and places if you want to follow along.
I wrote up a list of the various parts of the story I could blog about, and guess what turned up for this particular guest post? Sex! Hee.
HER VAMPIRE HUSBAND is one of my lustier, more erotic stories (though I would not label it erotica by any means). It seems the more opposite my hero and heroine are, the more they really set off the fireworks behind the bedroom door. I've done vampires before, so knew that their sexual habits were pretty normal. (Well, as normal as amorous biting and bloodletting can get.) I've also done a male werewolf (Severo from MOON KISSED), and knew that when werewolves mate they shift to their man-beast form to have sex. Yeah, that was an interesting scene (see MOON KISSED if you are interested).
But in Her Vampire Husband, Blu, the werewolf is female, and I hadn't quite decided how sex should work for her. I think I spent a few days muddling over it. My hubby asked what I was thinking about. I muttered, "Werewolf sex." (He really should know better than to ask me what I'm pondering. It's always interesting and sometimes a little outrageous.) I really wasn't cool with the idea of the female werewolf shifting to a beastly form and getting all hairy for the big sex scene that brings hero (Creed) and heroine together. But she had to shift because the male werewolves do. How to do that without turning readers off, and the hero?
I decided a partial shift was the way to go. The heroine becomes more, stronger, a little taller, more sensual and animalistic, but no fur (maybe some talons though). It worked for me, and it gave the hero a real challenge when facing this uber strong woman who wanted sex, yet wasn't willing to let him at her without first proving he was capable. Talons slashed. Furniture flew. And I believe the bed broke somewhere around the middle of the scene.
The hero, Creed, was capable, let me tell you.
Though I didn't take it beyond that, in my notes, I know that a female werewolf cannot get pregnant unless she's fully shifted to werewolf form, but Blu and Creed are simply enjoying marriage and loving one another right now. I don't see children in their future. Yet. :-)

Very interesting. I haven't read much in the genre, yet. Haven't read werewolves or vampire stories but something tells me there are going to be a few on my list from these blogs. However, I had some similar scenes in both my recent novel that I finished the first draft a few days ago and in a particular erotica flash fiction piece(that placed in the contest it was entered). Both of them had a similar element in that the characters are mutants.
In the flash fiction story, one controls the weather while the other has fire and ice. So, in the scene it starts to rain, inside a set of caves, and soon becomes ice. Afterward, the ice/fire one uses heat to help warm the other guy up (oh, yeah, it's m/m by the way).
My novel has a character who controls energy/electricity and he struggles with sex because of this. The end result is a moment without control and not being able to control the electricity can involve a shock to whoever he is with. Causes a small dilemma for him.
Both have been very different to write and yet interesting at the same time. Part of the fun in having mutant characters is to figure out exactly how they'll deal with the physical side of their relationships. That's my thoughts on it at least.
I would have loved to see your husbands face when you said werewolf sex. I am sure it was priceless.
Anyway, I don't mind the vamp sex with bloodsucking and the werewolf shifting doesn't bother me either. A chick werewolf shifting should be interesting to read. I sure I will still love it.

I find the sex scene with the vamps so interesting. You can imagine them being very experienced since they have been around so long.

Actually, my husband didn't blink an eye. He's used to it by now. For the longest time I wanted to shoot someone in the head with an air nailer (on paper, of course) because I'd read a few cases where carpenter's had done so, and sometimes hadn't even noticed, or they were not brain damaged in any way. My hubby's a carpenter so I was asking him a lot a questions about air nailers. :-) FInally did do the scene in THE BONE CONJURER, which is written under the Alex Archer pseudonym, and out in May. Hee
Love the fire and ice lovers together. Very interesting match! Putting opposites together is always fun. In matched a werewolf to a familiar (cat shifter) in a short story, Racing The Moon. That was fun, especially since when familiar's have sex they sometimes bring demons to this realm. :-)
I love all kinds of paranormal books and some of the best sex scenes have been written by Lora Leigh. I love how her breeds take on the characteristics of the animal DNA they share and how all of the men are so afraid that the women will hate it. Shelly Laurenston's books will make me laugh out loud when she describes how the children from cross breeding her wolf and her lion characters look.

My favorite is a cat shifter and a werewolf, esp., when they make snarky comments.

My favorite paranormal couple sex scenes would definitely have to be the vampires. Nothing against the shifters, angels, demons, etc. There is something special to me about the Vamps.

I don't think I've ever read a book with a vamp\werewolf couple. Sounds like an interesting mix.

vampires are so sensual the sex is always so intimate but I love the animalistic nature of were creatures, especially the wolves- combining the two is sure to be amazing combo can't wait to read Her Vampire Husband to find out
I'm all for the vamp sex scenes . . . so erotic. As for the shifters, I haven't read many in that genre yet, so I can't comment. Other than I'm not sure reading about doing it with a shifter once he has shifted or is in the process of shifting. :-)

Kresley Cole's Dark Needs at Night's Edge featured paranormal "activity" between a vampire and a phantom/ghost and it was memorable!

I haven't read much paranormal. The closest I probably have come to is the Twilight series. I am looking to read more though.

The only things that are coming to mind are scenes I was uncomfortable with (ie stuff entering the realm of bestiality). I think I like sexy scenes with shifters/weres when their animal instincts show a bit. Like with Kate and Curran (Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels books) and his feeding her and the meaning behind it. Not exactly sensual, but I do find it caveman cute.

I read a book where the male shifted into a tiger during their "coupling." It was an interesting scene but not gross, which I had expected..

Vampire action is probably the best. That being said, I think that a good writer can make any coupling sexy.

*ahem* I love Angels (Fallen) they are the ultimate bad boy with good hearts. And they are dang sexy! They sizzle hottness. Imagine, they have seen heaven and so many beautiful things so when they go gaga over a woman's beauty and can't resist her, that would make you feel awesome. Also imagin what he can show and teach you in the bedroom? Yowza!
