Alone in a secluded estate with her sworn enemy, Blu curses the marriage arranged to bring their rival nations together, especially since Creed Saint-Pierre calls out to her most feral desires. When Blu uncovers her pack's secret plot to destroy the vampire nation—and Creed—she is forced to confront her growing feelings for her sexy undead husband. Will she choose the only life she's ever known or accept his vampire bite? Hi everyone! Thanks to Roxanne for inviting me here today. I'm doing a blog tour through April, and at each blog while be chatting about a different aspect of HER VAMPIRE HUSBAND. Check my blog for the dates and places if you want to follow along.
I wrote up a list of the various parts of the story I could blog about, and guess what turned up for this particular guest post? Sex! Hee.
HER VAMPIRE HUSBAND is one of my lustier, more erotic stories (though I would not label it erotica by any means). It seems the more opposite my hero and heroine are, the more they really set off the fireworks behind the bedroom door. I've done vampires before, so knew that their sexual habits were pretty normal. (Well, as normal as amorous biting and bloodletting can get.) I've also done a male werewolf (Severo from MOON KISSED), and knew that when werewolves mate they shift to their man-beast form to have sex. Yeah, that was an interesting scene (see MOON KISSED if you are interested).
But in Her Vampire Husband, Blu, the werewolf is female, and I hadn't quite decided how sex should work for her. I think I spent a few days muddling over it. My hubby asked what I was thinking about. I muttered, "Werewolf sex." (He really should know better than to ask me what I'm pondering. It's always interesting and sometimes a little outrageous.) I really wasn't cool with the idea of the female werewolf shifting to a beastly form and getting all hairy for the big sex scene that brings hero (Creed) and heroine together. But she had to shift because the male werewolves do. How to do that without turning readers off, and the hero?
I decided a partial shift was the way to go. The heroine becomes more, stronger, a little taller, more sensual and animalistic, but no fur (maybe some talons though). It worked for me, and it gave the hero a real challenge when facing this uber strong woman who wanted sex, yet wasn't willing to let him at her without first proving he was capable. Talons slashed. Furniture flew. And I believe the bed broke somewhere around the middle of the scene.
The hero, Creed, was capable, let me tell you.
Though I didn't take it beyond that, in my notes, I know that a female werewolf cannot get pregnant unless she's fully shifted to werewolf form, but Blu and Creed are simply enjoying marriage and loving one another right now. I don't see children in their future. Yet. :-)
I have a set of THE HIGHWAYMAN and MOON KISSED to give away to one commenter.
Let's chat about the sexy scenes! Obviously, reading paranormal, you expect to encounter some different sexy scenes.
