Monday Musings January 18, 2010

Wow, I'm exhausted. It's been a busy weekend. I worked on both my novels a little bit, though I feel like I stared at the screen more than I actually typed so I ended up steering clear of the computer for awhile and made a big mess in my kitchen with an art/craft project I've had tickling the back of my mind for awhile.

Too bad it didn't exactly turn out how I envisioned it would. That's OK at least I have a prototype and an idea of where I went wrong and what I need to do to make it turn out right next time.

Since the craft project didn't turn out so good I found other things to keep me busy, like cleaning and cooking. I made cabbage soup, coleslaw, lemon pepper chicken, and chopped up a ton of fresh veggies so I'll have ready to go healthy snacks for the next couple days. Plus I went through a bunch of cookbooks trying to plan out new meals that my whole family may enjoy (which is harder than it sounds, believe me- 3 picky kids and a picky husband...)

I know sounds like I was avoiding writing-actually I was clearing my head and working out the frustration. I've been forcing it lately and getting nowhere. Add restlessness into that equation and I was on a fast track to sucky writing.

So now I can start out today with a whole new outlook and some great ideas. It is amazing how the ideas and inspiration can flow once I remove the pressure of sitting in front of the computer.

After I cooked and cleaned I settled in for some relaxation time with hubby...and the DVR. We had an Angel marathon again watching episodes the DVR has recorded all week, with a few Buffy's thrown in here and there. We also watched another episode of Demons on BBC America. Still not impressed. They need to bring back Being Human, now that was a good paranormal show.

We have a pretty busy week here at Fang-tastic Books. Keta Diablo will be here tomorrow discussing vampire movies and giving away an e copy of her newest book. Thursday Linda Robertson will be here, and Friday I have a great Free Book Friday sponsored by Caridad Pineiro.

The 500 Follower Prize Pack is building. So far I have a Fang-tastic Books tote bag, T-shirt, and magnet along with lots of bookmarks and promo materials from other authors, a set of Blood Ties Season 2 DVDs along with a copy of the book Blood Price. And the pack will continue to grow as the numbers get larger. We're a little over half way there so spread the word, once we hit 500 Followers, one lucky follower will be randomly chosen from the list.
