Vampires for Christmas

Looking for holiday stories with a little bite?

I have exactly what you're looking for.

Vampires for the holidays- come on you know you want a vampire for Christmas.

I had to have this one- simply because it's Jeaniene Frost. How could I say no to Bones for Christmas. I couldn't. I have to read everything she writes- even if it's a grocery list. Ok maybe not but if it's a book, novella or short I'm reading it and this was defiantly worth it.

I haven't read much Lynsay Sands but after reading this, I think I will be reading more.

In Lynsay Sands' "The Gift," Katricia Argeneau knows grey-eyed cop Teddy Brunswick is her life mate. She just needs to convince him they belong together, and being snowbound in a secluded cabin will make this a Christmas neither will forget.

It's "Home for the Holidays" in Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series. Cat and Bones may long to wrap presents and set up a tree, but this Christmas, an evil vampire and long-buried family secrets will threaten to take a bite out of their holiday cheer.

I read this one last year and loved it . Heidi Betts really knows how to keep the romance in paranormal romances. Her vampire stories are some of the sweetest, romantic books with bite you can sink your fangs into.

If you are a fan of sweet romances but would love to give paranormal romances a try- start here. Heidi's books won't scare you away with violence or bloodshed. Her characters are normal everyday people that fall in love- some of them just happen to have fangs.

"All I Vant for Christmas" introduces Connor, who loves trimming the Christmas tree, baking gingerbread cookies, and hanging the mistletoe. But his vampire siblings won't help. His friend Angelina sends party planner Jillian to the rescue. But when Jillian, who's mortal, discovers she's decking the halls for a family of vampires, she must decide between running for her life - or putting Connor's mistletoe to good use.

In "A Vampire in Her Stocking," Vivian becomes heartbroken when she learns that her secret crush, Sean, is terminally ill. Confiding in Angelina, Vivian refuses to turn Sean into a vampire. Deciding to play Santa, Angelina changes Sean and leaves him wrapped in a red bow on Vivian's doorstep. Angelina, the heroine of

"It's a Wonderful Bite," is happy with her boyfriend Ian, but she's ready for a commitment. After drinking eggnog and watching "It's a Wonderful Life" on Christmas Eve, Angelina falls into a dream where she is mortal and Ian isn't interested in her. Talk about the nightmare before Christmas! But Santa must have checked his list twice because this Christmas Angelina's wishes are coming true...

Here's another great collection of holiday tales filled with fangs from last year.

Sink your teeth into these while sitting in front of your tree.

Prepare for an exhilarating journey across the boundary of death into a shadowy, daring new world. As darkness falls on another year, five fanged rebels are ready to celebrate like never before.

It's a time for bloodlust and stolen kisses, for clandestine bites and forming new bonds beneath the mistletoe. Succumb to the forbidden as these powerful vampires give you a Christmas you'll never forget….

Here's a new one for this year featuring vampire tales from Michelle Hauf, Laurie London, Caridad Pineiro and Alexis Morgan. Dark and delicious tales that'll put you in the holiday spirit and have you searching for more books by these authors- especially if this is your introduction to their dark worlds.

All they want for Christmas is you…

It's the time of year for twinkling lights on trees and kisses under the mistletoe. Yet the passing of another year means nothing to the stunning immortals who lurk in the shadows of the new-fallen snow.

And they don't care if you've been naughty or nice.

Let four fanged lovers open your eyes to a passion you never dared to imagine. After all, there's no place like home for the holidays—and these dazzling vampires can't wait for an invitation.

Kerrelyn Sparks is an author you must read if you love vampire paranormal romances with lots of romance and humor.

Try this series, you'll love it.

Toni Davis's Christmas wish list

1. Springing my best friend from the psych ward.

2. Living somewhere that doesn't have coffins in the basement. Occupied coffins.

3. Finding Mr. Right. Please make him tall, dark, handsome, and alive.

This Christmas isn't so merry for Toni. Her best friend's been locked up in a mental hospital ever since she told the police she was attacked by vampires, and the only way for Toni to get her out is to prove that bloodsuckers really do exist. So she's taken a job as a bodyguard for the Undead, but she gets more than she bargained for, especially when she meets Ian MacPhie, a Scottish rascal looking for Ms. Right.

Although Ian's nearly five centuries old, he looks and acts like a twenty-seven-year-old hunk.

How can a dead man be so damn sexy? Could Mr. Wrong be Mr. Right?

So these are my recommendations for vampire holiday tales? Do you have any? How about other paranormal books featuring Christmas?

Fang-tastic Guest Blog and Holiday Giveaway with Heidi Betts

“Vampires probably aren’t that big on Christmas, now that I think about it.”
“Not as a rule.”
~Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Yes, it’s true. Vampires and Christmas—they go together like…well, vampires and Christmas. LOL

When it came to THE BITE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, I definitely didn’t make things easy on myself. Do vampires even celebrate Christmas, you’ve got to be wondering?

Well, the idea actually came about after a chat with the late Kate Duffy, who ran the Brava line for Kensington Publishing. It got me thinking, “What if vampires do celebrate Christmas? They’ve been around for a lot of years, right? So what if they’re even more sentimental about holiday traditions than the rest of us?” They certainly have a lot more memories and customs to build on!

That’s pretty much how the first novella in THE BITE BEFORE CHRISTMAS came about. In “All I Vant for Christmas,” all Connor Drake wants is a nice, homey, traditional holiday.
Unfortunately, his rebellious siblings are having none of it. Enter Jillian Park, an event coordinator sent by Connor’s matchmaking friend, Angelina, to help him celebrate the holidays right—with or without the cooperation of his brother and sister.

For the second story in the collection, I have to admit I just really liked the title “A Vampire in her Stocking.” *snicker* But then I had to come up with a way to get one there. So I created Vivian Harrison, a female vamp who’s been in love with her mortal boss for as long as she can remember. But poor Sean turns out to be sick. Very, very sick. Once again riding to the matchmaking rescue, Angelina Ricci decides to do what a vampire has to do—she turns Sean and leaves him as an early Christmas gift for Vivian…complete with bright red bow.

Last but not least, how could I not put a spin on the much-beloved It’s a Wonderful Life concept of “What if I’d never been born?” Of course, in this case, it had to be “What if I’d never become a vampire?” In “It’s a Wonderful Bite,” Angelina gets her own shot at happily forever after—and I do mean forever—but not before going through the hell of seeing what life would be like if she and her long-time love, Ian, had never been turned in the first place. Let’s just say she gains a newfound respect for her fangs and immortality. ;-)

So that’s the run-down on my fun & sexy holiday vampire collection, which did indeed just come out from Kensington Brava. I’d love to answer any questions you have about THE BITE BEFORE CHRISTMAS and chat with those of you who have hopefully already read it! (Hmm, that doesn’t sound quite right. I’ll chat with and answer questions from everybody, whether you’ve read the book yet or not. I’m just hoping a lot of you have read it already. ;-))

In addition, I’d like to invite everyone to enter the “Blood Good Holiday Giveaway” going on now at HeidiBetts.com.

It’s chock-full of fabulous Christmas and vampire goodies (photo above also a photo and list available on the Newsletter page of my site) and the only thing you have to do to enter is sign up for my Newsletter. (And stay subscribed, of course. ;-) But I’m not a pest, I swear!)

And finally, at the end of my visit today, I would like to reward one fabulous and enthusiastic reader with an autographed copy of THE BITE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, as well as a handful of very cool vampire goodies—(see photo abobe) glow-in-the-dark fangs, a vampire fangs whistle, and a tiny vial of Vampire Blood (which, surprisingly, can also be used as anti-bacterial gel ;-)).

If you haven’t yet read THE BITE BEFORE CHRISTMAS or haven’t yet read me, all the better—I love dragging new victims over to The Dark Side. *vbg* And, yes, we do have cookies—especially at this time of year. (You don’t mind if the gingerbread men are anatomically correct, do you?)

Oh, and here are a few bonus questions from me to you: (why should I be the only one in the hot seat, right?)

#1 – What’s your favorite vampire movie or TV show? (And don’t automatically pick Moonlight just because it’s more recent and Alex O’Loughlin is sexy hot. :-p)

#2 – Who is your favorite fictional vampire? (Extra special bonus points if you name one of the sexy heroes from THE BITE BEFORE CHRISTMAS. ;-))

#3 – Have you succumbed to Stephenie Meyer’s all-hypnotizing powers and become a rabid Twilight fan, or are you hanging on to your sanity & sticking with the sexier, more masculine examples of vampire-ness like Angel or Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer? (Okay, that was a little mean. Sorry, I have a strong aversion to teenage vampire angst. But if you’re a Twilight fan and proud of it, I promise not to stake you. Or ask you if you’re a member of Team Edward or Team Jacob…but mostly because I just don’t care. :-P)

#4 – Of the three vampire heroes in THE BITE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, who would you most like to settle down & nibble on?

#5 – Of the three heroines in THE BITE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, who would you most like to be?

A Review of The Bite Before Christmas

Five Fangs for The Bite Before Christmas by Heidi Betts

Book Description:

“All I Vant For Christmas”

Connor loves trimming the Christmas tree, baking gingerbread cookies, and hanging the mistletoe. But his vampire siblings won’t help. His friend Angelina sends party planner Jillian to the rescue. But when Jillian, who’s mortal, discovers she’s decking the halls for a family of vampires, will she run—or will Connor have a beautiful woman to share the holidays with?

“A Vampire in Her Stocking”

When Vivian learns that her secret crush Sean is terminally ill, she’s heartbroken. Confiding in Angelina, Vivian refuses to turn Sean into a vampire. Deciding to play Santa, Angelina changes Sean and leaves him wrapped in a red bow on Vivian’s doorstep…

“It’s A Wonderful Bite”

Although Angelina is happy with her longtime lover, Ian, she’s ready for a commitment. After drinking eggnog and watching It’s a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve for the (literally) four millionth time, Angelina falls into a dream where she is mortal, and Ian is involved with someone else. Talk about the nightmare before Christmas! But Santa must have checked his list twice, because this Christmas Angelina’s wishes are about to come true…

These three sexy stories are sure to warm up your cold nights and put you in the mood for eggnog, carols, and holiday happiness. And to make it even better- they feature vampires.

Vampire fans are going to love these light hearted, romantic stories that show even vampires celebrate the holidays...and have problems. Being a blood drinker doesn't make you immune to life's little problems... or love.

I think my favorite story was the first one- “All I Vant For Christmas”.

Connor is an alpha male vampire who knows what he wants and pushes until he gets it. Too bad his younger brother and sister are just as stubborn and thwart his every attempt at having a happy family holiday.

Then his friend Angelina sends a party/event planner his way. Jillian turns out to be exactly what Connor needs in his life...and his bed. She just needs to get over her fear of vampires and he needs to learn how to be a little less aggressive.

The second story had bittersweet moments but in the end it's a romantic holiday treat.

As Vivian struggles with the issues surrounding her former boss Sean's illness and tries to come to terms that he is dying she discovers him gift wrapped in her living room- and changed into a vampire courtesy of her friend Angelina. Sean wakes up in disbelief. He doesn't think vampires are real and surely can't be one of them. After drinking blood and being burned by the sun reality starts to sink in. Will he adjust to the fanged life or kill himself in the sun?

The third story featured Angelina herself- match maker for the fanged set she finds it difficult to believe her own love life isn't exactly what she hoped it would be.

Ian isn't exactly the romantic type- the grand gesture is completely lost on him. Angelina however, breaths romance- even if she isn't getting any. She wants Ian to tell her he loves her and ask her to marry him.

Her wishes get jumbled when she wakes up human- and so is Ian. Both are cops and things go from bad to worse when Ian runs afoul of vampires. Can Angelina save him without her own vamp powers? Or will she wake up from the dream worse than she was- without Ian.

I have never read anything by Heidi before but now I am hooked on her sassy, sexy and witty charm. The dialogue flows smoothly and the characters are complex even though the stories and short.

I loved this book and think I'll be pulling it out to re-read a few scenes in December when I will really need a boost of sexy warmth and holiday spirit.

Note- I received an ARC for review and the names of the male characters don't match up with the ones in the book description- so I don't know if the names were changed after the ARC was released or if the names in the book are right and the blurbs are wrong. I changed the names in my blurbs to match the ones in the book I have.
