There are many reasons I love Blood Ties and the Blood Books by Tanya Huff. Most of all I loved them because they gave us a great independent female role model in Vicki. She could kick ass and take names.

The chemistry between the leads in the show was fantastic. I'm still amazed that Kyle Schmid was only 22 when he started filming the show. He played Henry with the perfect amount of aristrocacy, arrogance and finesse to make us believe he was the bastard son of Henry VIII and a vampire to boot.

Don't even get me started about how I hate lifetime because of how they treated this show and its fans. I refused to watch this network. It surprised me when Blood Ties showed on lifetime, should have known it would have been doomed since they specialize in Victim of the Week movies and reality shows, neither of which this show was, IT WAS TOO GOOD FOR LIFETIME.

I haven't read Blood Ties and the Blood Books by Tanya Huff.

I do, however, love vampire stories. Partially because I love paranormal romance. I love to see what new spin an author is going to give to a paranormal character. Vampires are usually hot bad boys, and that doesn't hurt my attraction to them.

Like several other people, I bought this book because of the TV show "Blood Ties". What I likes about her novels is that her novels focus on the actual mystery/action/conflict. There is some sexual tension and little bit of sexbut not the shoved in your face sex scenes.

I haven't read Tanya Huff's Blood Books either. I have put her on my TBR pile. I have always read and loved Vampires. I need to get on the band wagon:)

Paranormal and vamps are my favorite genre to read. This would be a new author for me and I've never seen the tv series.

I read the 1st Blood Ties book before the show started and loved it. I have to say though after the series started, I could only imagine the characters playing Vicky, Henry and Mike as I read the books. I read all 6 of these books (borrowed from the library) and would love to own them and the series. They rock.

There's just something HOT about Vamps.

I haven't had a chance to read the books or see the series. Yet...

Vampires? I think it's the whole immortal, live forever aspect of them. It's a fear for most people to age and grow old with death the only reward. Who wouldn't want to be frozen in time and ageless?

Thanks for the opportunity! Indigo

I loved Blood Ties because of the chemistry between the lead actors. I liked that the heroine was strong despite her poor eyesight that was kinda considered a disability by those on the force.

I have not seen the show or read the books.
I do like books that feature vampires because they are mysterious and sexy.

I'm a BIG vampire fan, and I loved the "Blood Ties" TV show! Great characters with strong, competent women and sexy men!

Why I love vamps?

Why of course the sexy vampire pheromones! Perpetually ageless, totally hot, what more could a girl ask for!

Beside Kyle Schmid is totally gorgeous, as a vampire or not. Too bad Blood Ties died such an early death! Lifetime lost big time.

I agree Lifetime was the wrong network for the show, I really wish another network would have picked it up because it rocked. Henry is the most awesome vamp because he does not apologize for being a vampire and doesn't boo hoo about being a "monster" he just is what he is.

And the characters were just so wonderful...yes the chemistry was so great and Vicki what a great heroine. She really did kick ass and take names.

I'd never read the books (don't know why I missed these being a vamp fan), but loved the show, great chemistry. I was disappointed too when Lifetime canceled, had hoped maybe SciFi would pick it up. Now I plan on reading the series.

I haven't read the books yet but I was an avid viewer of Blood Ties. Henry is HOT and Vicki is a strong female lead. The chemistry between the two was great, I miss the show.

i love the show because rarely do I live shows made from authors ideas that i enjoyed first then saw second. this is certainly one i really get into

I have not had the opportunity to read the Blood Ties books, but I loved watching the TV series. I loved the series, because the chemistry between the main characters is amazing and I loved the different storylines.

I would love to be entered.

What can I say!! This is a vampire story with a difference, gone is the moody depressed undead and here is Henry. So incredibly portrayed by Kyle Schmid. At last we not only have a vampire with a history (son of King Henry VIII) but also one whom is happy to be a vampire, giving up life for love...Add a PI and a jealous cop and you have a recipe for success.

Tanya Huff's books are the best. She always had a way with writing such emotion and detail into her scenes and cativating the reader. The same thing was in the TV series only brought to life off the pages. And why do I like vampires? They are sleek, sexy, dangerous creatures of the night. Whats not to like about them?

I haven't read Tanya Huff yet, but I do blame my old boss for getting me into paranormal romance novels - especially vampires. Which lead me really to read anything dealing with vampires.

Please include me. I love vampires, the mystery, intrigue, knowledge, experience, and many many other reasons. They are just a fascinating character type to read about or watch. And every story can take on a new twist, there are so many variations.

I know I've been living under a rock, but I am not familiar with either of these! I am familiar with vamps though. I do enjoy their charm, charisma, intelligence and sexiness!

I have loved vampires since reading Interview with a Vampire in 7th grade. Loved the show Blood Ties and the books are on my TBR pile.

I love vampires all thanks to Anne Rice. Because how can someone read about Lestat and Armand and Marius and NOT come to love vampires for being beautiful, eternal, and vicious.

In 2002 I had just moved to the UK. I was lonely and homesick. I don't know how I heard of the Blood series but picking up and reading the first book which was so vividly set in my hometown of Toronto was such a revelation! I loved them from the very 1st chapter.

If this is an international contest then I am in.

I love vampire shows, but I am yet to watch Blood Ties. They have never showed it here and I first heard about it last years. And yes vamp books are the best

I first read Blood Price ages ago, but what I liked about it was the strong heroine. As I recall, these books actually came out before the current passion for kick-ass heroines and paranormal fiction, so they were pretty ahead of the curve. And I think Vicki was a great heroine for being smart and determined but not infallible, and I loved the way the series combined elements of fantasy and mystery. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

Love, love "Blood Ties." Used to DVR it, and I miss it since it is no longer available. Liked the chemistry between the characters, am surprised that SciFi never picked it up. Would love a chance to read her books though. Always best to read the books before the movies...

I never had the chance to read the book or see the show. But i can tell you why i love vampires. Besides the fact that they are sexy, beautiful and immortal, it's the way they love and live. With extreme passion. If they love, they will until the last day and they will show that love every day and every way they can...I only wish humans could be a little like that...

Shooting Stars Mag said...

I don't think I missed the deadline for this...I hope not anyway.

But let's see, I'd love to try out the book/show because I've never seen them before. However, I love vampires because they are very interesting. They can live forever (mostly) so do they do what they want and the hell with the rest? Or are they good and try and do right by people? It's always a little different in the various vampire books out there and I love finding new stories to read and love.
