Calling All Vampire Authors and Vampire Lovers: The 2011 Flint Vampire Ball

It's that time of year again.

I'm already gearing up for Halloween and I am totally looking forward to this year's
which is an annual event here in Flint, MI
that helps raise money for our wonderful Flint Farmer's Market.

This year's event is scheduled for Saturday October 22, 2011.

This year I am putting together 20-25 goodie bags filled with books
and other fun vampire and paranormal items.

These bags are being donated to the Ball to give away as raffle prizes.

Many authors have donated books and swag the previous 2 years.

You can see the sidebar to the left for a list of the authors who donated books to the 2009 and 2010 Flint Vampire Ball.

I am once again asking for donations.

No you don't have to send 20-25 books ,
1 or 2 is good or any amount of author swag like bookmarks and trading cards

I'll also accept stickers, pins, buttons, ink pens or any other promo items you may want to include in the goodie bags.

If you are interested in sending some books or swag send me an email
roxannerhoads @ aol. com

and I'll give you the address to mail them to.

Want to attend the Ball?

You can learn more about it here.

The 2011 Flint Vampire Ball

Who will join me at the Flint Vampire Ball this year?

Details taken from the Vertigo Theatrics Site:

The hinges creak as the lid of the coffin lifts. The darkness of the interior of the box stirs with the movement of the undead.

The re-animated hand of the vampire Amir Ayyish Mayyit Minalibir moves and reaches out for the streets of Flint. He is patiently awaiting the arrival of his minions when the Historic Masonic Temple will once again be filled with the reveling of those wishing to join the festivities.

Save the date as the Amir will once again host Vertigo Theatrics 4thAnnual Vampire Ball

at the
Historically Haunted

Masonic Temple at 755 S. Saginaw St. in downtown Flint on

Saturday, October 22, 2011.

Only 333 tickets available….Order your tickets early to ensure your presence at this yearly Gothic Gala –

the Amir awaits you……

mark your calendars for October 22, 2011…

you don’t want to miss this fangtastic event!!

The night will once again be full of exotic scares and pleasure. The first three years welcomed the gothic genius of Voltaire, The Hellblinki Chamber Ensemble, The Lunatic Vagabonds Gothic Belly Dancing Troupe, DJ cypher of Dark Nation Radio, Bellamorte, Versailles, Ego Likeness & Covert Operations.

The Vampire Ball has proven to be a Halloween treat that spookily brings out the bloodsucker in all of us. The darkness and children of the night cool a spiral through the heart and makes you question your future. If you have need for prognosticating there will be psychic readers Lynda Forbes & Friends on hand to help guide your path.

The prior years have been enchanting and eerie, yet combined with a festive atmosphere of continued surprises by not only the entertainers but the audience as well. There is little ability to predict the full evolution of the night or the mystic spirits that will possess the guests.

Speaking of spirits, the cash bar will once again be serving the specialty drinks of The Blood Bath, Vampire Kiss Martini, Vampire Wine, Blood (Bud) Lite, True Blood and the Familiar, heavy hors ‘d oeuvres are included with your ticket. Tickets are $20 in advance/$25 at the door. Tickets can be ordered on line at www.vertigotheatrics.com or by calling Vertigo Theatrics at 810-239-7469. Join us for this one of a kind event in mid-Michigan, Saturday, October 22, 2011. Doors open at 7:30. You must be 21 and over to enter the vampires lair…ID’s will be checked at the door. The Amir is anxiously waiting to greet his guests.

Monday Musings October 18, 2010

Me and Hubby at the Flint Vampire Ball

So I haven't written a Monday Musings post in forever.

I figured today was a great day to do it because of the Vampire Ball this past weekend.

I had a blast- it was so much fun.

I danced the night away then spent Sunday complaining about my feet and knees hurting. Boy it sucks getting older. If I were really a vampire I wouldn't have to complain about the mundane atrocities of aging.
Oh well it was worth it. I don't get to go out and have fun very often.
I hope other people had lots of fun at the Vampire Ball, too.

Three winners won their tote bags full of books- thanks again to all the awesome authors who donated books (see link list to the left to see all the authors who donated).

I am already planning for next year- I hope to donate many more books and goodies for door prizes. Next year I think I'll toss in some t-shirts and hats and I'll start collecting for door prizes from authors and companies early.
The Flint Vampire Ball is a great event- and it's to raise money for the Flint Farmer's Market. So it's a worthy cause as well.

I hope to see some of you there next year.

Until then here are some photos of the Tote Bag full of books winners.

Here are some random shots from the Ball, I'll be posting more to my Facebook page later
